Food waste disposers were invented by American architect from Wisconsin in 1928. He came up with the idea
since he wanted to make kitchen cleanup work easier for his wife. It turned out that the one major problem in cleaning
was disposing of scraps of food. After eleven years of testing and development, the world’s first food waste disposer was created.
It was patented in 1935. The appliance operated on the principle of centrifugal force to grind food waste against a stationary grind ring,
making it easily to be flushed down the drain.By the late 1950, Food waste disposer became a necessity for the modern American kitchen
and is now used in 50% of homes. In some major cities their use is mandatory as part of an overall environmental program.
